Why 138?
Released in 1978 on their debut EP Bullet, "We Are 138" is one of the most iconic tracks in punk history — a dark, cryptic anthem born from Glenn Danzig's obsession with cinema, the occult, and the feeling of being fundamentally other.
The title references THX 1138, George Lucas's dystopian debut, and has taken on a life of its own as a symbol of outsider identity. To wear 138 is to declare allegiance — to horror-punk, to the Misfits mythology, to the idea that you were never meant to blend in.
